Observatories
Two observatories open SBDI's publication collections for exploration: the InfoDesign journal and the CIDI proceedings.
The InfoDesign and CIDI observatories make it possible to explore the work published in the journal and in the conference proceedings by territory, institutions, researchers, authorship, collaboration, topics and references.
Both platforms share the commitments of open data, a declared method and a situated reading. In this way, they offer the community tools to know and discuss the trajectory of the field from its own output, as a complement to the international databases. The decision rules of the interpretive analyses are published in the Procedures section of each platform, and the sections that use artificial intelligence are identified.
Linked to SBDI and developed as part of academic research by the same team, the observatories have technical autonomy. The team is responsible for maintaining the platforms and for the analyses it publishes, and reports to the Society's Board.
Observatório InfoDesign
Brings together InfoDesign's academic papers since 2004: 437 papers in 59 issues, up to 2026, in the September 2026 database. The database cross-checks six sources: the journal's website, its OAI-PMH repository, Crossref, OpenAlex, DOAJ and the full text of the articles. The platform takes as its subject the tension between the journal's origin, created to establish a Brazilian perspective in the field, and its entry into Scopus, with English-only submissions since 2025.
Observatório do CIDI
Brings together the proceedings of every edition of the conference, from the first one, in 2003: 1,837 papers in 12 editions, up to 2025, in the October 2026 database. The database starts from Crossref, where Editora Blucher deposits the DOIs, with data from OpenAlex, and includes the five editions without a DOI, from 2003 to 2011, published by SBDI. The full text of the papers is also a source, and three sections classify each paper, one by one, under criteria published before the reading.
