SIGs
Special Interest Groups of the Brazilian Society of Information Design
1. SBDI and its Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
SBDI seeks to disseminate research, teaching and practice in information design; to promote and facilitate cooperation among professionals, lecturers and researchers in the field; and to stimulate the community's interest in visual culture and information.
2. How the SIGs were created
As part of the celebration of 20 years of the Information Design International Conference (CIDI), in 2023, SBDI created the SIGs to promote discussion and the sharing of knowledge in research, teaching and professional practice. The SIGs aim to bring new energy to SBDI and closer integration among its members, giving them room for active participation. The SIGs are:

3. The SIGs and the CIDI conferences
The Groups work through activities that share specific knowledge in research, teaching and professional practice within their theme. Meetings are held to identify each Group's needs.
Group activities take place between the Information Design International Conferences (CIDI), for example:
- Seminars
- Webinars
- Debates
- Interviews
- Publications
The CIDI programme includes time for the Special Interest Groups to meet, so that the event can present the Groups' work and welcome new members.
4. How to take part
SBDI members can take part in one or more SIGs. The SIG Regulations (Article 7) ask members to express their interest in writing to the group's coordinators, through SBDI's official channels. To take part, write to SBDI's email and say which group you want to join. SBDI forwards the message to the coordinators.
