Membership applications are approved by the Board, under the terms and conditions of the SBDI Bylaws.

Full members: researchers and lecturers with scientific output, or professionals with recognized work in Information Design.

Student members: students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programmes in fields related to Information Design.

What members get

The 2026 Bylaws (Article 8) guarantee members whose fees are up to date the right to:

  • take part in the Special Interest Groups (SIGs);
  • receive SBDI's publications and regular communications;
  • take part in SBDI's activities, events and bodies;
  • access content and materials reserved for members;
  • send proposals to the Board, the Scientific Council and the Fiscal Council;
  • vote and stand for election in SBDI's elections, in the case of full members.

Members also pay a discounted CIDI registration fee.

How to join — Students

  1. 1) Register

    Go to the membership registration page (in Portuguese) and enter your details, including your student enrolment number in the field provided.

  2. 2) Send proof of enrolment

    Email sbdi@sbdi.org.br with the subject “Comprovante de matrícula para associação” and attach your proof of enrolment. The file must not exceed 5 MB.

  3. 3) Create your login for the members' portal

    Your registration is validated within 7 working days, and you will receive by email a link to generate the payment slip for the two-year fee. Meanwhile, you can create your login on the members' portal with your CPF (Brazilian taxpayer number).

  4. 4) Wait for the payment slip

    You will receive the payment slip within 7 working days; if it does not arrive, you can find it on the members' portal.
