Founding

Founding Assembly, 9 October 2002, Recife

SBDI was founded on 9 October 2002 at the Founding Assembly held in the Ivan Assumpção de Macedo Auditorium of the Arts and Communication Centre of the Federal University of Pernambuco, in Recife. At the same session, the founding members approved the Bylaws, unanimously elected the first Board, confirmed the Scientific Council and set the annual fee at sixty reais for full members and thirty reais for student members.

The PDF transcribes the revised draft of the minutes, kept in SBDI's digital records. The signed minutes were handwritten in the Society's minute book, which has not been digitized.

The same assembly elected the first Board: Carla Galvão Spinillo (President), Solange G. Coutinho (Vice-President), Luciana Lopes Freire (Secretary), Itamar Medeiros (Treasurer).

Founding members

Under the 2002 Bylaws, the founding members are those who signed the founding minutes. The signed minutes were handwritten in SBDI's minute book, which has not been digitized. The list below was therefore put together from two sources in SBDI's records and may be incomplete.
