In its 12th edition, CIDI 2025 continues its discussion forum for Information Design theses with the theme: "Doing Research in Information Design." This pre-CIDI activity is designed for PhD students registered for CIDI 2025, providing an opportunity for researchers to interact and deepen their knowledge of Information Design theses.
The goal of this event is to promote an exchange of experiences, acknowledge the strengths and opportunities of the research, discuss collective challenges and limitations, and identify potential contributions to SBDI. To this end, we will hold participatory dynamics in groups organized by themes related to the participants' theses.
The meeting will be coordinated by Carla Spinillo (UFPR), Carlos Rojas (Univille), and Matheus Cezarotto (New Mexico State University).

Infographics are a type of visual representation found in various media and formats: social networks, websites, books, magazines, newspapers, corporate and academic reports, among others. They can be used to explain an accident, the production process of a factory, or to tell stories. This versatility, combined with visual appeal, makes the use of infographics very attractive. But can all information be turned into an infographic? And how can we create good infographics? To try to answer these and other questions, this workshop seeks to explore the process of transforming raw data into infographics, charts, and other forms of information visualization. From a journey through history to current practices, paths for thinking about infographics will be presented, explaining concepts, definitions, and characteristics from the theoretical perspective of Information Design.
Workshop coordinated by Fabiano de Miranda (UNINTER) and Rafael de Castro Andrade (Universidade Positivo).
This event will be held in Portuguese.
