The fourth largest city in the world and Latin America's biggest city, São Paulo is the financial and cultural heart of the country. Founded in 1554 by Jesuit priests, São Paulo has today a population of approximately 10,500,000 inhabitants, totaling 6 percent of Brazil’s population. São Paulo represents about 9% of the Gross National Product and has also the third largest budget of the country, which has boosted Business tourism and turned the city into one of the main strategic points in Mercosul.

Besides, São Paulo is one of the most active cultural centers in Brazil, featuring 272 movie theaters, 102 stage theaters and 70 museums, presenting the best in Brazilian and Internacional artistic production. And, for good food lovers, São Paulo is also a great choice: internationally acknowledged as the biggest gastronomical capital in the world, it has approximately 12.500 restaurants, representing the cuisine of 42 ethnic groups. São Paulo also offers to its visitors more than 15 mil bars for those interested in having a nice happy hour.

In this scenery the events of the Brazilian Congress of Information Design and the Information Design International Congress are scheduled to happen. (Source: http://www.cidadedesaopaulo.com/)
