Rio de Janeiro, capital of the state of the same name, is the second largest city of Brazil, founded 444 years ago. Located in southeastern Brazil, with 6 million inhabitants in an area of 1224.56 km ², coastal extension of 246, 22 km ² and green area of 325.6 km ², is a mosaic of enchantments scattered between sea and mountains. Rio is more than one, each day creating solutions to meet all tastes and desires. Also known as a wonderful city, Rio has internationally famous monuments such as the Sugar Loaf, the Maracanã, Botanical Garden and the Corcovado, with the Christ Redeemer, the latter being chosen as one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World. The River was chosen after research carried out by the universities of Michigan and California, as the city with the most amiable people in the world. This is the biggest secret of the wonderful city, the spirit of Rio, that makes all the urban mosaic of different attractions. Rio is the beaches, mountains, green areas, the outdoor sports, such as New Year's Eve events, carnival and many others. Rio is historic, it is cultural, it is daytime, and night. It has many flavors. It is for all ages. Rio is like one of its symbols, the Christ Redeemer, with open arms to welcome the visitors.
